About me
Hey, I’m Shaun Garwood (he/him). I’m a developer/engineer with a focus on Linux, Python, Ruby, networking, security, and Docker — though I dabble in quite a few things.
This site is where I dump my findings, notes, hacks, ideas, rants, raves, musings, and thoughts. Mostly tech stuff.

6/3/2019Drunk conversation, we wanted a place to review and find good patios around Denver. There isn’t anything, so I just bought dpat.io and am building a POC website.
Made the switch to using usenet! Holy crap. I get it now. SO much more media and SO fast! Newshosting and nzbgeek.info. Also switched from Jackett over to Prowlarr.
it has been a JOURNEY with bazarr (subtitle server). finally got everything working. i signed up for a VIP account on opensubtitles.com (doing my part) so i can retrieve 1,000 subtitles a day. it should take the server about 2-3 weeks to go through the whole media back catolog.
started playing with betterstack.com for monitoring all my servers/services (kind of like datadog but cheaper). i’m hoping i can get an agent to do all the heavy lifting!
i had claude take another stab at recovering the plex playlists that got lost during the migration, it’s definitely gotten smarter since a year ago. it inferred how to match titles and fill out lists list “MCU”. fixed like 18 out of 22 playlists.
